How To Show Up In Every Moment At The C-Level

It is important, as a leader, to show up in every moment at the C-level and demonstrate you were meant to be there. At least that’s the thought. This can be a daunting task for many executives, but one of the best pieces of advice I have heard was from Michelle Obama - “Act like you were meant to be there.”

This phrase embodies everything that it means to be a successful C-level executive - resilience, conviction, and confidence. It speaks to the power of visualizing yourself as having already achieved your goals and believing in your own capability to do so.

When we believe we are meant to be somewhere, our mindset shifts from one of fear and doubt to courage and determination. We are prepared to face any obstacles head on instead of running away from them or giving up altogether. We become more open-minded and receptive to new challenges since we know our own capabilities will take us farther than what any obstacle can put in our way.

This attitude will influence how others perceive us as well. If colleagues feel like we belong in that role and trust us with difficult tasks, it shows that we’ve established ourselves as credible leaders worthy of respect and recognition.

Showing up with confidence means committing not only to putting our best foot forward but also devoting ourselves fully into every interaction — no matter how small — as if each moment has the potential to open doors of opportunity for us down the line. So…act like you were meant to be there!
